Clint Black
8:00pm at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
($36-$56)

Clint Black has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and charted nearly two dozen No. 1 singles including “A Better Man,” “Killin’ time,” “Nothing But The Taillights,” “Like The Rain” and “When I Said I Do.” He is one of the most successful artists in Country music history having written, recorded, and released more than 100 songs, with nearly one third achieving “hit song” status on Country radio. Perhaps most impressively, Black wrote or co-wrote every one of his more than three dozen chart hits. Since his debut, Clint Black has won numerous awards from the American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music, the Grammys, and the Country Music Association. In addition, Black was inducted into the cast of the Grand Old Opry in 1991 and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996.

($15)

Two-time Grammy® Award Winners, Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer celebrate their 45th recording, Get Up & Do Right. They are master musicians with a career spanning over 35 years. Their superb harmonies are backed by instrumental virtuosity on the guitar, five-string banjo, ukulele, mandolin, cello-banjo, and many other instruments. An eclectic folk festival on their own terms, their repertoire ranges from classic country to western swing, gypsy jazz to bluegrass, and old-time string band to contemporary folk including some original gems. The Claire Lynch Band
8:30pm at Isis Music Hall
($20)

Dolly Parton credits Claire with "one of the sweetest, purest and best lead voices in the music business today." Claire's harmonies have graced the recordings of many stellar musicians. Equally gifted as a songwriter, her songs have been recorded by The Seldom Scene, Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea, Cherryholmes, The Whites and others. Blazing her own trail in the mid '70s when there were few role models for a young woman in the genre, Claire Lynch made history when she led the Front Porch String Band, which evolved in the '80s and '90s into “one of the sharpest and most exciting post-modern bluegrass bands on the circuit.” She formed The Claire Lynch Band in 2005.

Hiss Golden Messenger
9:00pm at The Orange Peel
(18+, $16 adv / $18 DOS)
Tickets now on sale

Hiss Golden Messenger has occupied a strange place in the folk/country scene for some time. The group’s spare arrangements and fragile melodies recall anti-folk stalwarts, but M.C. Taylor and Scott Hirsch have always had a fondness for arrangements that allow the group’s songs to flourish. Their take on these traditions has always been rich and devoted without falling into slavish obsession with tradition. Taylor and Hirsch are still fully aware that they’re musicians in the 21st century, as evidenced by the tinges of rock and R&B that bleed into the group’s songs. - Pop Matters

Unknown Hinson
Halloween Show
10:00pm at The Grey Eagle
($20 adv / $25 DOS)

Halloween Show! While singing his own hilariously politically incorrect songs, Unknown Hinson plays guitar in a style incendiary enough to have Satan himself reaching for the antiperspirant. But don't dismiss him as a novelty act. He's one hell of a talent and has the music to prove it! Unknown is gaining international notoriety in the 14-34 demographic as the voice of lead character "Early Cuyler" in the Cartoon Network's "Squidbillies".
