Alex Travers is a musician living, teaching and working in the city of Asheville. Born 1991 in upstate NY, he was raised in the Raleigh area. While growing as a musician and individual he acquired his bachelors degree in violin performance from Appalachian State University. Throughout his upbringing and education, his work as a collaborative artist, arranger, performer, teacher, violinist and songwriter permeated into a variety of musical styles and genres. From Baroque to electronic, from studios to concert halls, his involvement is anything but bland. Absorbing every experience like a sponge, he is likely to squeeze the most out of any piece, performance or project he comes across. Musical influences include Phillip Glass, Elliott Smith, the Pixies, Andrew Bird, J.S. Bach, Buckethead, and many others.
